Highly Qualified Teachers
Pensacola Beach Elementary School was one of the highest performing schools in the State of Florida. PBES has dedicated and experienced teachers. Many of the teachers have advanced degrees and/or certified in multiple areas. PBES uses the Escambia County pay scale to attract highly qualified teachers. Pensacola Beach Elementary school has chosen to participate in the Florida Retirement System.
Highly Qualified Administrators
Susan McLeod — Pensacola Beach Elementary School has one administrator. Susan McLeod has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of education including traditional, private, charter, and online learning environments.
In her most recent role at Pensacola Beach Elementary School, Susan served as an instructor, literacy coach, and curriculum coordinator. She has been a National Board Teacher and has been Teacher of the Year twice. In addition, Susan has served on numerous educational committees; such as school improvement, SAC accreditation teams, and Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
Susan McLeod holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership/Curriculum and Instruction, from the University of West Florida. As well as a bachelor of arts degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of West Florida.
