Mrs. Kim Spring is our Art teacher

Hey y’all! I’m Kim Spring and I grew up in Jackson Mississippi, surrounded by my whole family! I was a college cheerleader at Mississippi State University (along with my husband) in Starkville and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fitness Management and Art. I moved back to my hometown and there I started raising my 4 children and I taught art at a homeschool school for 3 years.
In 2011, we followed my husband’s company to beautiful Pensacola Beach for the oil spill and never went back. My youngest started at the beach school in 1st grade and I fell in love with this school. I started helping in the art room as a parent volunteer 3 years ago and actually became the art teacher last year. This will be my 2nd year teaching here at PBES.
I love teaching these kids how to express themselves with color and paint. It’s so awesome to watch them just soak up the history of past artists and their work. To me, it’s not all about artistic ability, it’s about the courage to make that first mark on the big white blank sheet and see where it goes from there. In my free time, other than being a wife and mom, I love leading my church community group at my home and serving this great community we get to call home! It’s going to be a great year!!
